Eyes 2.0
'Just got out the pool eyes'

Produced in Sept 2018 |
I took the picture for this drawing on a family holiday in 2015. It shows my other little brother, Zach, just out of the pool, hence the title of this post and the blob of water on his face. This was the first proper drawing I produced after finishing Art A-Level in 2016, so I'm quite proud of how it turned out! I used all the same techniques I outlined in the previous post - blending the pencil with tissue and cotton buds, using a rubber to create highlights and contours, and using a fineliner on the eyes to create depth. To learn how to draw water realistically I watched some tutorials on YouTube - it's a useful tool! Overall the drawing above took about a week. I also drew this picture as part of an A-Level Art project on human emotions, which you can see below.
It definitely isn't as detailed as the black and white pencil drawing, but I love this piece just as much because of the colours. I used a mix of Derwent colouring pencils and the Caran D'ache Pablo pencils for this drawing.
